A DVA Gold Card says ‘all conditions’ – a provider can still say no

Dear Editor,

A DVA Gold Card can cover treatment for all medical conditions. It cannot make a doctor, psychologist, physio or other provider accept DVA.

That distinction matters.

Higher allied-health fees from July 2027 may help, but providers also deal with DVA rules, approvals, billing and paperwork.

An entitlement is not much use if the veteran keeps hearing – “We don’t take DVA.”

DVA and the Repatriation Commission need to know where providers are walking away, why, and where veterans are struggling to find care.

The repatriation promise only means something if it reaches the treatment room.
