With the exercise now complete, a large number of military vehicles – including semi-trailers and armoured vehicles – will be using local, State and Federal roads over the coming days. This includes the Stuart Highway heading north towards Darwin.

“We appreciate that our road movements will have an impact on other road users, and we are working hard to minimise the effect we have on other road users,” Exercise Director Brigadier Mick Ryan said.

Road users are asked to maintain a safe distance from military convoys and to be aware of changed traffic conditions.

“Our drivers are under strict safety controls every time they operate our vehicles,” Brigadier Ryan said.

“We ensure our convoys adhere to the posted speed limits on State and Federal roads, and to a maximum of 40 km/h inside our Range areas.

“We remain aware of the school holiday period and ask all road users to keep us in mind and take it easy with Army convoys.”.
