Extracting beauty from a ‘killer log’

In the last video, I was nearly killed (OK, so I’m exaggerating just a little bit) by a log I found in a local swamp.

A friend identified the wood species – I had no idea.

When I looked up Silky Oak on the Googles, I was inspired to slice the log into boards.

And, with my daughter’s birthday fast approaching, I had an idea…
