The Royal Australian Air Force issued the following update on its Operation Bushfire Assist 19-20 operations this morning…
➡️ No. 44 Wing Air Traffic Controllers are providing a flight information service at the airport in Bairnsdale, Victoria. This will help local authorities manage the high volume of air traffic currently using the airport.

➡️ A P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft conducted route reconnaissance from Sale to Mallacoota to assess engineering requirements. It will continue reconnaissance of fire grounds, operating from RAAF Base Edinburgh in South Australia.
➡️ Role One Medical Facilities are being established at RAAF Base East Sale and Holsworthy Barracks to provide first aid, immediate lifesaving measures, and triage.

The ADF has been moving supplies and evacuees by rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. Flights will continue until all who wish to evacuate have been transported to East Sale.

➡️ ADF bases throughout affected regions from Brisbane to Adelaide are providing temporary accommodation to those displaced by the fires.
