The flypast will occur at 10.40am. The aircraft will then hold to the east and conduct a final flypast at 11.15am.
The Globemaster crew will manoeuvre the aircraft in various configurations and will perform three passes, at times as low as 120m.
People attending the event will be able to view the aircraft and display from the Shorncliffe Pier and immediate surrounds.
This will provide a great opportunity for people to capture photos of an Air Force aircraft in different configurations and flown by highly-trained Air Force crews.
The Globemaster is operated by No. 36 Squadron and is one of eight aircraft in service based at RAAF Amberley near Ipswich.
The Globemaster is used by the Air Force as a strategic airlifter. The aircraft is able to carry a payload of more than 70 tonnes and can also conduct tactical airlift missions, including airdrop of cargo by parachute.
Recently, Australia has used the C-17A to conduct non-stop airdrop missions to research stations in Antarctica with the assistance of air-to-air refuelling, as well as deliver urgently-needed medical supplies to sailors at sea.
The Air Force appreciates the support it receives from the residents of the Brisbane and South East Queensland regions and is proud to support this significant event.
This event may be cancelled at short notice due to operational requirements, weather or air traffic.
