Labor scrapped the cap. Now explain the savings

Dear Editor,
Labor has scrapped its proposed $5000-veterans-allied-health threshold after months of opposition from veterans, families and advocates.
Matt Keogh says the government heard veterans and took the threshold off the table.
But the Budget had booked a $748 million saving over three years from the measure, followed by $340.2 million a year ongoing.
The promised $169.7 million increase in allied-health-provider fees remains. So, with the cap gone, what about the savings?
Has Labor abandoned the $748 million, or will it try to find the same reduction somewhere else in veterans’ healthcare?
Veterans won the fight everyone could see. Now we need to follow the money.
