The government has released updated wound care information for wounds in innovative new formats to improve the healthcare of Australians.
Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Dan Tehan today announced the Department of Veterans’ Affairs had released a mobile-friendly version of its wound-care-management resource.
“The wound-care-management resource contains information about the identification and treatment of wounds and is a valuable resource to medical practitioners and the health community,” Mr Tehan said.
“The new mobile-friendly resource will mean health practitioners can access this valuable resource on any device, at any time.”
The wound-care-management resource was developed and reviewed by Associate Professor Geoff Sussman with the Advisory Wound Care Committee, including Associate Professor Michael Woodward and nurse practitioner Judith Baker.
Mr Tehan said the release of the new resource coincided with the inaugural Wounds Australia (formerly the Australian Wound Management Association) National Conference in Melbourne, 9–12 November 2016. DVA will host a booth at the conference.
The new resource Wound Identification and Dressing Selection Chart can be accessed from the DVA website at http://www.dva.gov.au/woundcare
WARNING: This resource is meant for health professionals – and definitely not for those of a squeamish disposition 🙂
