Starting the stairs to my basement pit

This week, I turned around and started upwards – the stairs to get me out of this hole I dug myself into.

Stairs, they say, are complicated, technical and tricky building projects.

Even more so when you’re starting from scratch, with second-hand materials and only a vague plan in your head.

But, like all great projects, it starts by taking that first step.
