Leading Seaman Avionics Technician Cameron Green, from Hobart, is a member of Australia’s Federation Guard.

He’s in London as part of the Australian contingent contributing to the Commonwealth forces who will be marching in the funeral procession for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Monday.

“I am honoured to be here to pay my respects to Her Majesty the Queen,” Leading Seaman Green said.

On a cold and overcast English morning, a full dress rehearsal was conducted in the early hours to prepare the formation for marching through London, and to provide valuable practice for those involved in the ceremonial activities.

“Standing here in the darkness this morning really brought home the significance of this occasion and I am so humbled and proud to be here and contribute,” Leading Seaman Green said.

All the military personnel marching in the procession are undertaking a rigorous training program to ensure that on the day all will proceed in a timely and respectful manner.

Parade and ceremonial staff from the Royal Navy, British regiments and the Royal Air Force have put on an impressive display of instruction and expertise in the planning of the Queen’s funeral.

“As a member of Australia’s Federation Guard, I am very impressed with the ceremonial skills and drill on display,” Leading Seaman Green said.
