Invented by Prince Harry, Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, injured or ill servicemen and women.
These, the fifth Invictus Games, will be held this year in The Hague, Netherlands, from 9 to 16 May.
Mayor Remkes said, “No one comes out of a war intact. Even though they are still trained for it. The power that wounded and sick soldiers bring in and then recover is enormous”.
“That they are also able to exercise at a high level borders on the superhuman.
“I am therefore very happy and grateful that The Hague can offer a stage to these men and women who are admired by so many.
“We will receive them with open arms.”
Tickets for this year’s Invictus Games are on sale here.
