The WA Indo-Pacific Defence Conference on Monday 12 August at Crown Towers, Perth, will be hosted by Perth USAsia Centre and Defence West on behalf of the Western Australian government.
Attendees will hear from Premier Mark McGowan, as well as Minister for Defence Linda Reynolds, Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price, Shadow Minister for Defence Richard Marles and Shadow Minister for Defence Industry Matt Keogh.
Senior military leaders from Japan, Korea, Indonesia and India will join high-calibre speakers from the USA – including Former Commander US Pacific Fleet Admiral Scott Swift, Vice President Boeing International Mark Lippert and Former Commander US Cyber Command Admiral Mike Rogers (retd).
CEO of Perth USAsia Centre and one of Australia’s leading authorities on the Indo-Pacific Gordon Flake said this would be the second WA Indo-Pacific Defence Conference convened by the Perth USAsia Centre on behalf of the WA government.
“This conference will bring together influencers, government officials and suppliers from across the state and nation with their counterparts from across the Indo-Pacific to explore the demands of the defence industry now and in the future,” Professor Flake said.
“Defence as an industry provides Western Australian and national business with an opportunity to supply to businesses across the region.
“The conference supports the WA government’s Western Australian Defence and Defence Industry Strategic Plan and will bring representatives from Austal, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, AMSEG, and SAAB together with WA’s important SME community.
“Last year’s conference was a great success for the State government and the Perth USAsia Centre, and we plan to continue this year with a conference program that provides insight for all aspects of the defence industry, providing unique networking opportunities, connecting attending delegates with key contacts that could very well change their business trajectory,” Professor Flake said.
This year’s WA Indo-Pacific Defence Conference will offer expanded exhibition opportunities for interested businesses to showcase their products and services during break times, with some partnership opportunities still available.
Tickets for the WA Indo-Pacific Defence Conference are available now and cost $220 including GST.
