Defence Force Recruiting Adelaide incorporated the booths for the Australian Defence Force Cadets into the various Defence static displays and recruiting stands as part of a fully-integrated showcase of career pathways.

The Air Force Cadets’ stall was a simple display: just cadets talking from the heart about their experiences in the AAFC – their own personal journeys of growth and development.

They used the opportunity to promote the AAFC youth development programs.

The Public Affairs Team was drawn from No 601 Squadron (Keswick Barracks), No 602 Squadron (Woodside Barracks), No 604 Squadron (Hampstead Barracks), No 608 (Town of Gawler) Squadron, No 609 Squadron (Warradale Barracks), No 613 Squadron (RAAF Edinburgh) and No 619 (City of Onkaparinga) Squadron at Seaford, and also No 606 Flight (the 6 Wing Band).

As well as supporting AAFC recruitment efforts, the cadets were invited by Defence Force Recruiting to support the Royal Australian Navy display, helping future pilots with the Naval Aviation Prospects Scheme (NAPS) Simulator. With the NAPS, the ‘Fly Navy’ team offers young people the opportunity to test their flying skills. And of course, in the quiet moments the cadets tried out the simulators themselves.

Flying Officer (AAFC) Paul Rosenzweig, 6 Wing Public Affairs & Communication Officer, said “The AAFC is very grateful to Defence Force Recruiting Adelaide for offering us the opportunity to join them and for providing us with an invaluable degree of exposure at a very high profile public event”.
