People’s Liberation Army-Navy (PLA-N) Task Group 107, comprised of the Jiangkai-class frigate Hengyang, the Renhai-class Cruiser Zunyi, and the Fuchi-class replenishment vessel Weishanhu, continues to operate inside Australia’s Exclusive Economic Zone.

Defence says it respects the right of all states under international law to exercise freedom of navigation and overflight in international waters and airspace, just as we expect others to respect our right to do the same.

People’s Liberation Army-Navy (PLA-N) Task Group 107, comprised of the Jiangkai-class frigate Hengyang, the Renhai-class Cruiser Zunyi, and the Fuchi-class replenishment vessel Weishanhuare operating in the Sunda Strait, between the Indonesian Islands of Java and Sumatra.
Defence monitors any PLA-N Task Group while it is near Australia’s maritime approaches.

People’s Liberation Army-Navy (PLA-N) Task Group 107, comprised of the Jiangkai-class frigate Hengyang, the Renhai-class Cruiser Zunyi, and the Fuchi-class replenishment vessel Weishanhu, is operating 155 nautical miles (287 kilometres) south of Christmas Island.
Defence continues to monitor the Task Group while it remains in the vicinity of Australia’s maritime approaches.

Defence continues to monitor the Task Group while it remains in the vicinity of Australia’s maritime approaches.
