Telling a law firm to shove it
Some time ago, I received an email claiming I had breached someone’s copyright by publishing a photo that they owned – and demanding $650 in reparations, or else face legal action.
Nothing unusual about that – I receive copyright-breach warnings all the time.
So I ignored this one the same as I ignore the myriad other spam emails I receive every day.
But then, I received an official ‘solicitors letter’ from a major law firm in Sydney – and told him to ‘shove it’, in the nicest possible way.
I’ll write a proper editorial about this case after it’s sorted.
