The ADSTAR Summit is a unique opportunity to engage with leaders, entrepreneurs, business and government across Australia’s research and development ecosystem. The event will be held in Sydney on July 20-22, 2022 at the International Convention Centre.
The United Kingdom Ministry of Defence’s Chief Scientific Advisor Professor Dame Angela McLean, and United States Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Ms Heidi Shyu, head a list of speakers at the summit. Australia’s Chief Scientist Dr Cathy Foley, and Chief of the Nuclear Powered Submarine Taskforce Vice Admiral Jonathan Mead will also be speaking.
In a recent address to the Sea Power 2022 conference, Vice Admiral Mead described Australia’s recent commitment to develop an Australian nuclear submarine program as an incredible opportunity for the Australian defence organisation, our navy, industry and workforce.
“The new nuclear submarine capability will involve not only acquiring the submarine, but also ensuring that Australia has a workforce with the necessary skills, training and qualifications to build, operate, sustain, and decommission a conventionally-armed nuclear-powered submarine capability,” Vice Admiral Mead said.
“And of course, there are substantial opportunities for industry involvement.”
Billed as the premier event for Australian defence science and technology, ADSTAR provides a unique opportunity for Australia’s top innovators and researchers to explore how they can contribute to Defence capability and develop innovative solutions to Defence’s biggest problems.
Event organisers say that ADSTAR will engage, empower and excite. Attendees will experience presentations, poster sessions, trade displays, networking events, demonstrations and virtual tours, online and face-to-face.
A free crèche will be available for children of registered participants. For more information about ADSTAR, and to register your attendance, go to www.adstarsummit.com.au.
