Penrith RSL sub-branch will host a Family Day for ADF and veterans on Sunday 15 May 2022.
This excellent family event will be held at Luddenham Showgrounds, Park Road, Luddenham NSW 2745 between 9am and 3pm
It will be a free but ticketed event – pre book here.
The purpose for organising this event is threefold:
- to say thank you to all current-serving and retired veterans and their families for their service (warlike and non-warlike) including WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf Wars, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, East Timor, Solomon Islands, peacekeeping and civilian service through natural disasters (floods and fire) and more recently through COVID-19;
- to reconnect current-serving members and veterans with the greater defence community after lengthy COVID lockdowns; and,
- to reach out to current-serving members and veterans by offering them supporting mechanisms to aid and navigate mental health, suicide prevention, professional services and resources.
We anticipate between 5000 and 10000 members will attend the event on 15 May, although the electronic ticketing system is built for a maximum of 20,000 guests.
Entry and rides, showbags (until finished), fairy floss (until finished), face painting, side show alley and more will be free on the day.
Food and drinks and some local stalls will be at participants’ expense.

Buses are available from the Penrith Train Station to Luddenham Showgrounds and return for those who do not wish to drive. Make sure you ticket the appropriate area when you book your tickets.
Your support in attending this community initiative would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to forward this email to any military-veteran-based friends in the Sydney region.
