Duty First
There is a soldier whose actions in Afghanistan are being investigated.
A helmet cam of him shooting an apparently unarmed man was aired by the ABC on Four Corners.
It has sparked public outrage.
But, my thoughts and sympathies are with the soldier who, though still serving, has been suspended from duty.
.
Despair the lot of fighting man
Upholding national trust.
To take to hold, that’s if he can,
Yes, and kill men if he must.
For now you say that what’s occurred
Is wrong, he must be tried;
Reviewing that which time has slurred,
Show cause why that one died.
To let loose savage, soothing justice and improper pride.
