ADF called in for Sydney lockdown patrols
On 29 July 2021, Defence received a request from Emergency Management Australia on behalf of the New South Wales State Emergency Operations Centre to provide Australian Defence Force personnel to support NSW Police with their response to the COVID-19 situation in Sydney.

Brigadier Michael Garraway, Commander Task Force 629, said the ADF would deploy up to 300 Defence personnel in the coming days to assist NSW authorities, serving the community.
“Defence members will commence deploying today to undertake training over the weekend and start working under the direction of NSW Police,” said Brigadier Garraway.
“Our tasks will include assisting NSW police conducting isolation and welfare checks, supporting NSW police presence patrols, transportation support, and logistics assistance.
“This will be in addition to approximately 250 Australian Defence Force personnel who are already supporting state authorities in New South Wales with tasks such as quarantine compliance management at hotels and airports.
“Our people are there in support of the NSW Police and civilian authorities, and to serve the community” said Brigadier Garraway.
ADF support to the civil community is guided by the Australian constitution. ADF personnel supporting the COVID outbreak in NSW are not authorised as law enforcement officers, nor are they able to enforce health orders.
“Our role is to assist New South Wales authorities do the important work they need to do in order to keep our communities safe,” said Brigadier Garraway.
“The ADF has worked closely with NSW and Federal authorities to support the community, including through bushfires and floods.
“Defence continues to work closely with these authorities to ensure Defence resources are allocated efficiently.”

Wow, I look back on this and now see our forces being trained again to defend rather than intimidate? our own citizenry. This picture certainly didn’t age well.
To think that NSW was one of the least tyrannical compared to Dictators Dan (Vic) and and King McGowan (WA) who’s somehow managed to sneak off yet still be protected from lawsuits from Palmer for the rest of his life at the WA taxpayers expense.
ADF is now relearning how to do shallow water exercises – Kind of sums their current capabilities as a result of this woeful leadership of all colours – fit only for the baby pool yet their leaders and pillows, Ahem, Politicians seem to be running their mouths off with actions like they’re really ready for the big pool not realising their already off at the deep end. Learn and learn quickly, they better, for all our sakes – I’m probably talking about the diplomatic corps at this point if we as a nation don’t want to receive the worst surprise and times of our lives. I pray everyday I’m so very wrong.
This is an absolute disgrace. What are these people going to do, maybe kick down doors, assist in the arrest innocent homeowners, drag the members of the community and throw them in the back of the divvy van, etc etc. If the police don’t have enough staff then they should employ some more.
With the new AIRP, where does it say how members of the ADF, receive proper training in managing those dastardly people in the community.
When the crap hits the fan will the Brigadier, throw the troops under the bus and he will come up smelling like a rose, just like CDF and his lapdogs are doing now
This is an appalling (and probably illegal) misuse of the military AGAINST the population. The fact that they are unarmed and performing ‘humanitarian duties’ is just the first step designed to set a precedent on the road to socialist tranny and our servitude under the New World Order.
HAHAHA!!! All the ‘trannys’ should be running scared – not just the socialist ones 🙂
