RAAF Centenary promotions off to flying(?) start

Tomorrow, 31 March 2021, the Royal Australian Air Force celebrates its 100th birthday.

A big year of celebrations will kick off with the presentation of a new Queen’s Colour for the Royal Australian Air Force at Government House (public not invited) – however, this ceremony will conclude with a spectacular flypast over Lake Burley Griffin, with up to 60 current and historic aircraft participating.

All this will be televised live on the ABC from 10am to noon.

These details were received by CONTACT in the form of an informal email from organisers just this afternoon.

Curious what else might be happening, aside from the now-twice postponed Avalon Airshow in November, we visited the RAAF web site for details – of which there were none – including tomorrow’s activities…
