Five more COVID-19 cases in Defence

Defence added five new COVID-19 cases over the past two days (while we were distracted by the new Apache helicopter announcement).

On Thursday, 14 January, Defence added two new cases – one ‘overseas’ and one in New South Wales.

Then on Friday, 15 January, they added another three cases – one ‘overseas’ and two in Queensland.

The total accumulative number of Defence cases now stands at 145, with 134 now listed as ‘recovered’.

Obviously, there’s no details about any of this (as usual), except for actual numbers added to lists – but, it is new and noteworthy (and completely speculative) to point out in regards to the three new cases Defence has logged in NSW and Queensland – that…

  • in NSW, there were no locally acquired cases in the state in recent days and all new cases were ‘returned travellers’ in hotel quarantine, but,
  • in Queensland, there have been cases in quarantine and cases among the quarantine-guarding fraternity, so we have no clue as to which category Defence’s two new cases fall under.
