First new ADF COVID-19 case in Sydney since April

Defence added one more COVID-19 case to its total today bringing the accumulated case-load to 90.

The change was made sometime today on Defence’s official “LATEST UPDATES” page, which still sports yesterday’s photo and yesterday’s date.

Their little black map showing the locations where cases were diagnosed is up to date too (for a change 😉 ), reflecting 90 cases – 36 overseas and and 10 in Sydney as the catch-up numbers missing from previous iterations.

This new case in Sydney is the first ADF case in that city since mid April (see CONTACT’s chronological lists here).

Melbourne remains the worst affected domestic location with 19 ADF cases – followed by Sydney on 10, Brisbane on 7, Adelaide 6 and ACT 6.

CONTACT’s location map differs to the ADF’s because we keep ours as up-to-date we can based on the last-known location of the ‘patient’, whereas Defence’s map only reflects where the disease was diagnosed.

769 ADF personnel are currently deployed on Operation COVID-19 Assist taskings in Victoria, 585 in NSW, 498 in Queensland, 152 in South Australia, 124 in Western Australia, 84 in the Northern Territory and (possibly) eight in the ACT.
