Defence moves COVID-19 case from Sydney to Melbourne

On Defence’s “latest updates” page still marked with yesterday’s date, there has been a significant change in Defence’s COVID-19 accounting.
Defence’s little black map of COVID cases clearly showed 11 cases in Melbourne and 10 in Sydney yesterday – a new case for Sydney, which hadn’t had a new Defence case since 14 April.
However, the map today now shows 12 in Melbourne and 9 in Sydney – on the “latest updates” page still marked 29 July.
I could probably make a long list of people to whom this ‘accounting-error correction’ makes a significant difference – not least of whom is the ADF member who contracted the disease – closely followed by two state premiers, for whom daily stats make sleepless nights.
But, apparently, Defence thinks this is a minor change not worthy of changing the date on their “latest updates” page.
However, for your convenience, edification and future reference, CONTACT has recorded this manoeuvring above – and on our chronological list of all Defence COVID-19 cases.
