Defence COVID-19 cases still rising

Defence has added another two COVID-19 cases to it tally of confirmed cases – one today and one yesterday.

Most worryingly, however, is that yesterdays statistic was a cased diagnosed and presumably acquired in Melbourne – though, of course, we have no way of knowing if that was a Melbourne-resident member or a member deployed on Operation COVID-19 Assist.

The number of Defence members deployed on Operation COVID-19 Assist in Victoria is now listed at 229, which is still second in size to the commitment in Queensland, at 372.

The other new case is listed as ‘overseas’, which could be anywhere. Previous overseas cases we’re aware of were one in PNG and the rest in the Middle East (we think).

On the good news side, an extra one has been added to the tally of ‘recovered’, bringing that total to 55.
