Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance reopens 1 July

Melboourne’s Shrine of Remembrance said it was delighted to welcome patrons back to the Shrine from Wednesday 1 July.

A press release today said the Visitor Centre, Crypt, Sanctuary and Balcony would be open for up to 50 visitors at a time.

Entry is free.

Pre-booked group tours of 10 may also visit the Galleries.

“The health and safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers is our top priority, and we are implementing new safety procedures including hand sanitising stations, additional cleaning and onsite public-health messaging in accordance with advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, the Department of Health and Human Services and WorkSafe,” a Shrine spokesperson said.

And, if you’re not ready to visit in person yet, you can keep connected online via their Facebook or Youtube channel to experience their programs, events and commemorative services from home.

The Australian War Memorial in Canberra will also reopen the same day, with limitations.
