Force Protection Element 12 farewelled from Afghanistan

Force Protection Element 12 (FPE-12) has completed a six month deployment to Camp Qargha, Kabul where they have provided force protection to Australian Defence Force (ADF) and coalition advisors conducting their train, advise and assist mission.

FPE-12 comprised of both Australian Regular Army and Army Reserve soldiers who are skilled in providing a secure and safe environment for advisors to conduct their engagement alongside their Afghan partners.

On 14 February 2020, Commander Joint Task Force 633 (CJTF 633) Major General Susan Coyle presented medals and awards to FPE-12 members alongside Colonel Mohammed Qayum, Acting Commandant of the ANAOA.
