With the support of Australia’s major military charities and hundreds of local Legacy Clubs and RSL Sub Branches, the campaign aims to have one or more Great War uniformed teddy bears donated into every primary school in Australia.

These popular collectable bears, created especially for the ANZAC Centenary, provide an interactive and non-threatening educational support prop for use in centenary learning activities.

Through Bears to School, military charities are using their extensive community links and engagement programs to recruit local businesses, organisations and individuals to purchase and donate a Great War bear to local primary schools.

All profits from the bears purchased for donation will be returned to the charities.

For just $99, donors receive a certificate of thanks and be acknowledged in the individual story card that accompanies each bear.

Coordinator, Australia in the Great War, will provide all shipping and handling at no charge, as well as maintain campaign resources and liaison with the charities, donors and schools.

Schools can also recruit donors directly, in which case the school will receive 15% of the sale price with 10% donated directly to Soldier On.

This is a government-approved, stand-alone website dedicated to this campaign.

The web site not only is a portal for donors to purchase the donor bear and nominate the school, it also contains bear-related resources for schools, provides a platform for schools to share news and stories of their commemorations, provides information on ex-service organisation and provides an outlet for schools to than donors.

There are 10 bear characters available, each with its own story card detailing the service or campaign the bear’s uniform represents in a way that will delight students and teachers alike.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is the proud owner of a Trooper Jones bear, which he keeps in his office.
