Veterans Suicide Memorial Day – seeking new minister’s endorsement

CONTACT was today cc’d on a letter addressed to the new Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Michael McCormack asking for his endorsement and assistance in promoting Veterans Suicide Memorial Day.

The letter itself should explain….

Dear Hon Michael McCormack

I was contacted by a member of veterans Affairs inviting me to contact you as the new Minister for Veterans Affairs. We congratulate you on your appointment.

We are asking if I can have an appointment to meet with you in Canberra to discuss Veterans Suicide Memorial Day, 2018.

Services will be held at St Johns Anglican Church Fremantle, Central Coast Interactive War Exhibit 24 Tatura Ave, Gosford NSW 2250 and Standown Park, 91 Radtke Road, Goomboorian Qld 4570.

See photo’s attached. We wish to make this positive initiative become a memorable ANZAC activity in Australia and New Zealand to stop the stigma and ridicule as experienced over the past 100 years.

We wish to come and have a photo with you holding the bronze plaque which we produce as a veterans initiative to support traumatised families who have lost loved ones fallen to suicide. Your status would be extremely empowering to many traumatised veterans and families who have faced the stigma and ridicule over the past 100 years.

Can we suggest Monday 5th March @ 11am your Parliament office, Canberra.

We leave 14th April 2018 on our Standown Park Push to the Bush outback Queensland ANZAC DAY tour to Muttaburra and to share the photo with other veterans and families would be great public relations for our ANZAC veteran community. Better still if you are prepared to wear the combat suicide t-shirt….what is your t-shirt size? Our focus is to have future generations choose life.

You will receive a complimentary veterans 2018 calendar in the post over the next few days. The same has been sent to Hon Ron Marks, NZ Minister Veterans Affairs

.

Sincerely
